Regional Sales Manager, Saskatoon
1 Year with Layfield

Q: Can you tell us about your current role and responsibilities?
As the branch manager for Saskatchewan and Manitoba, I oversee operations in these regions. Additionally, I offer technical support to owners, engineers, and sales teams by conducting site evaluations. Our close-knit team collaborates to ensure a seamless customer experience, from initial design to onsite installation. Being a trusted partner to our customers is our primary goal.

Q: What do you like about our company culture?
There is support from all levels of this company to educate others about our products and help make customers happy. The information sharing is incredible. Being able to help people expand their knowledge of different areas helps the customers through the collective experience of all Layfield people.

Q: What do you love most about working in the geosynthetics industry?
The people associated with this industry are so genuine. From workers on road construction crews to mine sites, everyone wants to see their best work displayed and show innovation wherever opportunities arise. Contributing to solutions that optimize efficiency—whether by reducing time, minimizing material usage, cutting costs, or benefiting the environment—creates an ideal scenario. Having such a direct impact on the natural world is a powerful reminder of our influence and responsibility to protect it.

Q: Can you share a significant achievement or project you’ve worked on recently?
Potzus had a project in Yorkton, where they unexpectedly encountered soft soils onsite. They promptly collected relevant information and shared the necessary results with our team. To maintain project timelines and cost-effectiveness, a solution was devised using readily available stock materials. This quick response secured repeat business from the client during high-demand scenarios and satisfied all parties involved.

Q: What hobbies or interests do you have outside of work that people may not know about?
We have a farm where we grow grains and have various animals. This allows me to spend time outside, taking in the natural environment with its highs and lows. We welcomed a litter of French Bulldog puppies two years ago—a delightful yet demanding undertaking. This breed is such a snorty pleasure!
