What Success Looks Like at Layfield
Successful T2 Geomembrane Installations Technicians at Layfield are self-motivated, highly disciplined, enthusiastic team players that have previous experience and proficiency directing the deployment of materials, installation, welding, as well as, testing and repairing geomembrane liners and installing environmental containment systems.
In addition, the Geomembrane Installation Technician is a safety-focused individual who is adaptable to changing schedules, enjoys working outdoors year-round and is available to travel extensively throughout Canada for up to 24 days at a time.
Language of work: English. Spoken and written.
How You Will Lead:
- Directs the deployment of materials.
- Directs the installation, the welding of geomembrane liners and installing environmental containment systems.
- Under limited supervision, competently sets-up, operates, and maintains all equipment used in the welding and repairing of geomembranes (wedge and extrusion welders, leisters, etc.), ensuring all tools are properly cared for.
- Helps identify and makes recommendations for process/equipment improvements.
- Competently performs and explains quality control testing practices such as tensiometer use, air pressure tests, vacuum box testing, point stress testing, and air lance testing, and the procedures for destructive testing.
- Assists with the training of new crew members.
- Works cooperatively with all employees, demonstrates good teamwork, and makes a positive contribution to the team morale.
- Ensure time sheets are submitted correctly and on time each working day.
What We Look For:
- 1 year + of Geomembrane Installation experience.
- Proficient knowledge and experience with the majority of geomembrane welding related equipment, including operation, troubleshooting and repair.
- Proficient knowledge of Quality Program and capability of accessing program information from the quality manual and/or the Supervisor.
- Availability to travel to different job sites for extended periods of time (up to 24 days).
- Successfully pass pre-employment or pre-access (drug & alcohol) site testing.
- Safety-focused individuals who enjoy working within a team.
- Good analytical skills and sound judgment to resolve issues.
