Senior Human Resources Manager
5 years with Layfield

Q: Can you describe your current position at Layfield and the tasks you handle?

I joined the Layfield team over five years ago, and as a Senior Human Resources Manager, I provide leadership and strategic direction for the Geosynthetics division in Canada and the U.S. Working alongside our VPs and managers, I help drive business success while fostering a strong, people-focused culture.

Q: Can you tell us about your recent accomplishment at Layfield that you are proud of?

I take pride in continuously improving our HR initiatives to ensure Layfield remains a great place to work. By focusing on value-added activities and eliminating inefficiencies, we create an environment where employees can thrive. The most rewarding part of my role is seeing employees develop and grow into new opportunities—each year, we celebrate numerous promotions and career advancements, and I look forward to seeing even more success stories.

Q: What do you like the most about the company culture and work environment at Layfield?

Working with a passionate, highly skilled, committed team that is focused on driving business success. The culture supports employee growth through development and promotion.  Employees help each other out with sharing their knowledge in a very respectful way. We also know how to have fun—our amazing social committee organizes fantastic events that employees and their families love.

Q: What advice would you give to someone considering a career in our industry?

The geosynthetics industry offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of sustainable infrastructure, environmental protection, and innovative engineering. If you’re passionate about problem-solving, sustainability, and making a tangible impact, this field offers endless possibilities.

Q: What do you like to do outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, traveling across Canada and California, golfing, gardening, cycling, and relaxing on beach vacations. Most of all, I love playing with my sweet four-year-old granddaughter—she’s an absolute joy!

Q: What inspired you to pursue your current role at Layfield?

I was seeking a company with a strong sense of purpose, proven success, great people, and leadership, and I found all of this at Layfield.  I believe in the power of people as a cornerstone of any successful company, and Layfield has a collaborative, dedicated team at all levels. Layfield truly values its employees, fosters a great culture, and provides a strong work-life balance, all while driving business success.  I’m very happy to be part of the Layfield team!
