Brianne Amiel

Procurement Manager

14 years with Layfield

Q: Can you describe your current role at Layfield and the number of years you’ve been with the company?

I joined the Layfield team 14 years ago as a customer service representative and quickly moved into the Supply Chain Department as a Buyer. From there, I progressed to Supply Chain Coordinator, then Purchasing and Inventory Specialist, and ultimately into my current role as Procurement Manager. My team and I manage all Geo inventory in Canada and Australia.

Q: Can you tell us about a recent accomplishment at Layfield that you are particularly proud of?

I’m proud of my recent promotion to Procurement Manager, and I’m excited to contribute even more to our department’s growth and success. I look forward to working with the team to achieve even greater things as we continue to develop and expand.

Q: What do you like most about our company culture?

What I really enjoy about our company culture is the emphasis on collaboration and innovation. Everyone here is supportive and open to new ideas, which creates an environment where creativity thrives. It’s great to be part of a team that values both personal growth and collective success. I’ve also enjoyed building friendships at work. It’s been great getting to know my colleagues on a personal level, and it makes the work environment so much more enjoyable.

Q: What do you love most about working in the geosynthetics industry?

It’s a field that constantly challenges me with new innovations and solutions, and I enjoy being part of an industry that plays such a crucial role in sustainable development and infrastructure. The work is both impactful and rewarding, and it’s exciting to see how the industry continues to evolve.

Q: Outside of your professional life, what are some of your favorite hobbies or activities?

Outside of work, I spend the majority of my time with my husband and four boys. All of our boys play hockey, so during the winter, I live at the rink and love watching them play a sport they are passionate about. I also enjoy staying active by going to CrossFit and spending time outdoors on our acreage.
