Gina pannoni
Account Manager, Seattle
1 year and 8 months with Layfield
Q: Can you tell us about your current role and responsibilities?
My role as an account manager for Layfield has included project collaboration, bidding and proposal management, business development, sales, and distribution. It has been a very multifaceted role, to say the least. I typically work directly with contractors and engineers on a wide range of civil projects in the selection and application of geotextiles, geomembranes, and other geo-related products. I also successfully prepare and submit proposals, ensuring competitive and accurate pricing, for the purpose of bidding on construction projects. As well as build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the distribution network.
Q: What do you like about our company culture?
As a female professional in a predominantly male industry, I appreciate both the challenges and opportunities this presents. Layfield recognizes the uniqueness of my experiences and role as a woman, providing support and fostering an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are valued and encouraged.
Q: What do you love most about working in the geosynthetics industry?
I thrive on competition, which is why I enjoy bidding on construction projects, networking with industry professionals, and contributing to selecting and applying the appropriate geosynthetic products. The industry is constantly evolving with new products and technologies that I also really enjoy learning about.
Q: Can you share a significant achievement or project you’ve worked on recently?
I recently won the bid for dairy lagoons that were over 700 acre-feet of storage for wastewater. My largest project to date!
Q: What hobbies or interests do you have outside of work that people may not know about?
My hobbies and interests have evolved to revolve around my children. Their successes and hobbies have become my own. I spend my spare time coaching and cheering from the sidelines, long days on the magic carpet with my 4-year-old at the ski hill, and lots of Lego masterpieces. I have also become a little obsessed with gardening. I enjoy its physical and mental benefits, having read that the bacteria in the soil can increase serotonin levels. I recently planted peach trees, peonies, and our seasonal “snacking garden”. My goal is to plant an entire acre of flowers so I can offset the expenses of all the failed attempts at growing other things.
